Bending Stiffness Tester (TS)

Bending Stiffness Tester (TS)

Determines the dynamic forces in a 2-point bending test

  • Features

    • Specially developed high precision gear
    • According to ISO and TAPPI for the paper industry, and according to VDA for the automotive industry
    • Touchscreen operation
    • Display of individual values, graphs, statistic functions, and ratio

    Description

The device is easy to handle due to a user-friendly touchscreen operation system. The measuring procedure is visualized during the test.Graphs, single and statistic values are displayed immediately after the test. The instrument is supported on special vibration absorbers. The acrylic glass cover protects against air drafts and other external influences, which could affect the test result when using low forces. Bending angle, angle speed, dwell time, and further values are pre-adjustable. Test methods are preset according to the standard. User defined test methods can be stored.

    Test description

The operator places the sample. If using a manual device, it has to be tightened by use of a friction screw. When working with the pneumatic version, the sample is clamped automatically when the start button is pressed. The sample support releases the sample, which is now pressed against the bending knife of the force sensor. The chart is displayed during the test. When reaching the preset bending angle, the sample rests for the preset dwell time and subsequently returns to its initial position.

The automated version automatically releases the sample. The test results and the chart are displayed. When performing MD and CD tests, the ratio is displayed.
